AFCON Qualifier: William Troost-Ekong eyes big win against Sao Tome for new minister

Nigeria defender, William Troost-Ekong has urged his teammates to target a big against Sao Tome and Principe to celebrate the new sports minister John Enoh on Sunday, September 10.
The Super Eagles are targeting a win to cement their top place in the group as the qualifiers draws to an end against the True Patriots.
Troost-Ekong assured that they are willing to present a gift of a win to the new Minister of Sports, John Enoh, stressing that no stone will be left unturned in sustaining a winning mentality towards the finals in Ivory Coast.
“Yes, we have already qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, but we want to win this match for a number of reasons,” the PAOK defender told media.
“We have a new Minister of Sports Development who has hit the ground running. It is good to welcome him with a big win. We also need to sustain a winning mentality ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers starting in November.
“So, we are not going to be taking this game as a dead-rubber or whatever people choose to call it. It is another important match as far as we’re concerned.”
The Super Eagles are making a return to the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo for their encounter against Sao Tome and Principe.
