AFCON Qualifiers: We are prepared for Benin Republic – Wilfred Ndidi

By Saheed Afolabi
Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi is optimistic about the Super Eagles’ chances in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The West African team will start their qualification campaign with a match against Benin Republic on Saturday, September 7, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Ndidi acknowledged that the Super Eagles have underperformed in the World Cup qualifiers, where they have yet to secure a win.
However, he expressed confidence in a turnaround for their AFCON qualifiers.
“We know we haven’t done as well as we wanted in the World Cup qualifiers, but we’re ready to make things right in Uyo,” Ndidi told NFF.
“Benin had their win in Abidjan, but we’ll see what happens in Uyo. Don’t worry; we’re prepared.”
The Super Eagles are also looking to rebound after losing the 2023 AFCON final 2-1 to Ivory Coast.
