Nigeria captain Ahmed Musa has called on his teammates to visit rural communities and interact with the youth during their offseason break.

The former Kano Pillars star made this appeal while visiting Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Plateau State.

As the European football season came to an end in June, many Super Eagles players are back in Nigeria.

Musa sees this as an opportune moment for them to help and motivate the less privileged.

“Recently, I had the honor of visiting the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Mangu & Bokkos LGAs with delegates from the government. We spent time encouraging the people affected (both Muslims and Christians) and assured them of their safe return to their homes soon,” Musa shared on X.

He continued, “To my fellow colleagues, can I use this opportunity to implore us to use this holiday period to visit our local communities and engage with the youths.

“Many of them feel like they don’t have any hope for the future and are almost on the verge of giving up, but by interacting with them as role models, sharing our life experiences, etc., we can inspire them not to give up and show them that they can achieve their goals in life. Our presence and encouragement can make a significant difference.”

Musa’s visit and his appeal highlight the importance of community engagement and the positive impact footballers can have on the lives of young people in rural areas.
