Sevilla and Nigeria striker Akor Adams has drawn attention after a video emerged showing his reaction to Manchester United’s 2–0 victory over Manchester City during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The footage, taken from a vlog recorded by Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi, captured Adams celebrating the result while Nigeria were en route to their third-place playoff match against Egypt.
The reaction has since generated speculation among fans about the striker’s admiration for the Premier League club.
Adams has enjoyed a steady rise in his career, moving from Norwegian side Sogndal in 2022 to establishing himself at Sevilla in Spain’s LaLiga.
This season, the 25-year-old has registered five goals and two assists in 15 league appearances for the Spanish side.
His latest goals came on Monday, when he scored a brace in Sevilla’s 2–2 draw away to Elche, helping his team recover from a two-goal deficit.
The performance followed his involvement with Nigeria at AFCON 2025, where the Super Eagles secured the bronze medal.
Despite the speculation generated by the video, Adams has not made any public statement regarding a potential move away from Sevilla. He remains under contract with the LaLiga club and continues to focus on his responsibilities with the team.
Manchester United have a large following in Nigeria, with several current and former Super Eagles players having previously expressed support for the club.
