Akwa United Announce Resumption Date

By Saheed Afolabi
Akwa United has disclosed the resumption date for the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Promise Keepers have set Saturday, July 27, as the date for players and team officials to return ahead of the new season.
Team manager Emmanuel Udoh stated that all players and officials have been informed to commence intensive training in preparation for the upcoming campaign.
Udoh emphasized the club’s commitment to serious preparations, noting that there is no time for frivolous activities as the new season approaches.
“All the players and officials are to report at the training ground on Saturday, July 27, to begin intensive preparations for the upcoming football season,” Udoh said, as quoted by Akwa United.
“The NPFL has set a date for the resumption of the new season, and looking at the fixtures released by the league organizers, we don’t have the luxury of time. So we (players and officials) have to return to camp and begin preparations and planning for the new season.”
The former NPFL champions had a challenging previous season, spending much of it battling relegation, which they narrowly avoided.
