Alex Iwobi remains hopeful about Everton’s Premier League relegation survival

Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi has talked up his club side Everton’s chances of escaping relegation in the English Premier League at the end of the season.
The Toffees looked more of a team on a brink of revival with their victory over Arsenal only to be the second best again in the Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool.
The defeat at Liverpool has left Sean Dyche side 18th on the table, with just 18 points in 22 games.
Despite their uncomfortable position, Iwobi does not want to believe all is lost for Everton to beat the drop just yet, stressing that its too early for his side to back down in the fight.
“It is a mindset thing. It is having that mentality to go into every game like we did against Arsenal,” the Nigerian said.
“Maybe that wasn’t the same 13 games ago. We have to produce it consistently now. That’s what the manager wants – start with hard work, selfless running, selfless things for the team.
“And we’ve all bought into it. The defeat is a set back, but we’ll recover.”
The Toffees’ next Premier League game is at home against fellow relegation battlers, Leeds United on Saturday.
Leeds United are 17th, just a point putting them above Everton on the Premier League log.
