Nigerian midfielder, Alex Iwobi was at the thick of action on Monday night as he was instrumental to Everton’s 5-1 massive win against Brighton at Amex Stadium boosting the Toffees’ relegation survival.
The Super Eagles schemer manned the midfield alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure and Senegalese Idris Gueye to dislodged Seagulls’ onslaught.
Two goals each from Doucoure and Dwight McNeil with an own goal from Brighton keeper, Jason Steele rendered the hosts to their heaviest defeat of the season.
Iwobi who provided the fourth goal of the match for McNeil was also involved in the build up to the opening goal as his through pass met Dominic Calvin Lewin whose cross was tucked in by Doucoure.
The former Arsenal star has now accounted for seven assists in the current campaign with two goals to his name.
Brighton’s consolatory goal came from Argentine’s Alexis Mac Alister.  The victory, however temporarily pushed Everton out of the drop zone on 32 points, two above Leicester City who are 18th on the log.
