Nigeria forward, Anam Imo was the heroine for Pitea as they secured a 1-0 win over Kristianstad in a Swedish Damallsvenskan encounter on Sunday.
Pitea played out a draw in its league opener while Kristianstad upended Kalmar and the Nigerian’s effort turned out the major difference
After a goalless first half, Imo found the matchwinner thanks Emma Viklund’s assist three minutes from time.
The goal was her first of the campaign for Pitea as she played the duration of the match alongside her compatriot, Faith Ikidi Michael.
This is her third season with Pitea since she joined from rivals Rosengard in 2021. The win pushed Pitea to the fourth position on the log with four points after two games.
Up next for Pitea is a home clash with the former club of Uchenna Kanu, Linkopings after the international break on April 16 at the LF Arena.
