Andrew Ikefe: Ex-NPFL star defender rates Lebanese league over Nigerian topflight

One of the highly rated defenders in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL has rated the qualities of Lebanese league than his country of birth.
Ikefe joined Al Sahel of Lebanon in October 2022 after an impressive season with Plateau United in the NPFL.
The utility defender who can play anywhere in defense and can also do well as a defensive midfielder asserted that the Lebanese league well structured in terms of financial benefits and needed facilities.
“Financially, Lebanese paid better than Nigeria, I knew how much I have made in just three months I have spent here.
“Nigeria doesn’t have the kind of facilities we have here in Lebanon and training is easier than in Nigeria.
“We trained for one hour and 30 minutes here but in Nigeria, it’s two hours or more.
“Here, they believe training for long hours will make you grow old than your age but instead, they prefer you rest well and gives you drugs that make you fresh”, said the former Kwara United and Niger Tornadoes’ defender.
Al Sahel are in better position to pick one of available slot for the continental football next season and also win Lebanese league.
