Abia Angels coach, Ann Chiejine has heaped praise on her side following a 4-0 win over Ibom Angels as she believes the players were able to achieve the feat because they stuck to the game plan.
Abia Angels bounced back from three consecutive defeats in the Nigerian topflight with a rampant second half goalscoring outing against the Uyo based outfit at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Wednesday.
Reacting to the result, the former international and Super Falcons assistant coach lauded her players for putting a fine display to seal the winning return, as she insists that qualifying for the Super Six event remains the main target.
”We played with a lot of confidence because the players listened to my instructions and stick our strategy before the game and it paid off we scored four goals,” Chiejine told media.
“I must also commend the players for the good display today as we continue to push we make sure make it to the Super 6 as we take other subsequent games as they come.”
With 13 points from nine matches, Abia Angels are in the fifth position of the NWFL Premiership abridged group B and trail table leaders Robo Queens by three points.
The Umuahia ladies will welcome Confluence Queens to the Umuahia Township Stadium on the fifth of April 2023.
