Anthony Nwakaeme Set for New Scouting Role at Trabzonspor

Anthony Nwakaeme is set to take on a new off-field role at Trabzonspor as the Turkish club looks to manage and optimize its foreign player quota.

The club has offered the Nigerian forward a position on its scouting committee, a move Nwakaeme has welcomed with enthusiasm. Speaking on the development, the 36-year-old made his loyalty clear.

“I will do anything that benefits Trabzonspor,” Nwakaeme said. “I want to retire from football as Nwakaeme of Trabzonspor; I am not considering leaving.”

His comments come amid reported interest from a club in the United Arab Emirates, but the veteran attacker remains resolute about seeing out his career with the Black Sea Storm.

Nwakaeme is expected to formally begin his new role after the close of the current transfer window. On the pitch, he has made five appearances for Trabzonspor this season, having recently returned from a long-term injury.

A fan favourite during his spells at the club, Nwakaeme’s transition into a scouting role underlines Trabzonspor’s desire to retain his experience, knowledge and deep connection with the club beyond his playing days.
