By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

AS Roma confirmed the signing of winger Omorinsola Omowunmi Ajike Babajide, widely known as Rinsola Babajide.

The 26-year-old forward has signed a contract that will keep her at the club until 30 June 2027, adding pace, creativity, and international experience to the Giallorosse squad.

Babajide began her career in England, progressing through the ranks at Millwall, Watford, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion, before moving to Spain, where she featured for Real Betis and most recently Costa Adeje Tenerife in Liga F.

Internationally, Rinsola represented England across various youth levels between 2015 and 2019.

In 2023, she made the decision to represent the Nigeria women’s national team, embracing her heritage and continuing her international career on the global stage.

Rinsola Babajide will link up with the team ahead of the upcoming campaign as AS Roma Women look to reclaim their Serie A title and compete in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The winger joined compatriot, Shukurat Oladipo at the Club.

She is currently representing Nigeria at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco with a goal and an assist to her name.
