Nigeria defender Ashleigh Plumptre scored the third goal as Saudi Arabia Women’s Premier League side, Al Ittihad, won their first game in five matches.

The host defeated Al Amal 3-0, ending a run of four matches without a win in the league.

Leticia Nunes scored the opener in the 31st minute of play.

Lana Abdulrazak doubled the lead for Al Ittihad in the 56th minute.

Five minutes before the end of the encounter, the Nigerian captain of the team, Plumptre, wrapped up the goals with the third.

Al Ittihad had lost their last four league games against Al Qadisiya (4-1), Al Ahli (4-2), Al Ula (2-0), and Al Hilal (3-1) before Friday’s victory.

They occupy the seventh position on the log with 18 points from 14 games.

Their next league game is against league leaders, Al Nassr on March 8, 2025.
