Nigeria’s senior women’s national team forward, Asisat Oshoala is of the view that she doesn’t have a specific personal target at club level for the season.
The record African women’s footballer of the year winner got off the mark with a goal as her Spanish side, FC Barcelona secured a 2-0 win over Madrid CFF in the opening game of the season last weekend.
The former Arsenal FC player wants to win every competition at the club’s disposal this season.
“Target for the club his season. I don’t really have a target,” Oshoala told The Super Falcons Show.
“I don’t like setting that because sometimes it puts pressure on you but what I love to do is enjoy myself, go out there, have fun, help my teammates as we try to win every competition we participate in be it the Champions League, Cup games, Super Cup, friendly matches and other games. Every game is very important.
“I hope we can win every competition we participate in this year.”
Africa’s leading goal scorer at the FIFA Women’s World Cup with three goals, Oshoala just wants to keep creating her records.
“Being Africa’s highest goal scorer in the senior women’s World Cup is a good thing.” She continued.
“I am really happy and excited about this. I am heating this for the first time. To be honest, I am just happy and enjoying myself doing what I love to do
“I also try to make a statement as a person who tries to create my record with is a big task because we have a lot of senior players ahead that actually created certain records that are not easy to break.” She concluded.
Two seasons ago, she emerged as the top goal scorer in the league and will hope to replicate a similar feat at the end of the campaign after winning the league and UEFA Women’s Champions League titles last season.
