Asisat Oshoala: Nigerian striker happy to start new year with a goal for Barcelona

Nigeria and Barcelona Femenina’s striker has started the year 2023 how she ended the previous year in terms of goal scoring with her club side.
The Super Falcons’ striker who has being in scintillating form with Barcelona of late continued with the same form as she was on score sheet on Saturday in her side’s 4-0 bashing of Sevilla in the Spanish Femenina Liga.
Oshoala scored the first goal of that encounter before setting up another for Claudia Pina to give Barcelona a comfortable half time lead.
Salma Paralluelo scored a second hakf brace to seal a comfortable win for Barcelona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
The five times Africa Footballer of the Year winner wrote on her Twitter page after the game that she’s elated with the goal and the result and hoping to score more.
“Starting the year right, ALHAMDULILAH,” Oshoala wrote on her official Twitter account.
The 28-year-old Nigeria forward has now has five goals with one assist in 12 appearances with Barcelona in Spain’s Women top flight this season.
Barcelona are leading the table with 39 points from 13 matches, meaning the Blaugrana club are yet to taste league defeat or drop any points this season.
