Atalanta boss Gian Gasperini tasks Ademola Lookman to regain his goalscoring boots

Atalanta boss, Gian Gasperini has backed Ademola Lookman to regain his goalscoring form after seeing the Nigerian endure goalscoring drought in the second round of the Serie A season.

Lookman had a terrific goal scoring run in the first half of the Italian Serie A as he netted 12 goals in 23 appearances with four assists but the Nigerian has struggled for goals since returning to club action in the second stanza.

The La Dea manager is eager to regain winning momentum and he is backing the Super Eagle to double his tally.

“We need goals from everyone. I don’t know if Lookman can repeat the number of goals he scored in the first half of the season, although we hope he will,” Gasperini told media.

“Rasmus Hojlund is also young and he will improve, while the others have so far not contributed as many goals as they should. We hope they can become decisive in the final stages of the season, otherwise Atalanta becomes too limited.”

Atalanta will trade tackles with Udinese on the fourth of March 2023 at the Gewiss stadium. The La Dea (The Goddess) stay firm on the sixth position in the Serie A by accumulating 41 points from 24 matches.
