Atalanta celebrates Ademola Lookman’s 100th milestone

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria international Ademola Lookman has reached a significant milestone at Atalanta, marking his 100th match for the club in their Italian Super Cup semifinal clash against Inter Milan.

Since joining Atalanta from Leicester City in the summer of 2022, Lookman has quickly become one of the team’s standout players.

The reigning African Player of the Year has enjoyed a highly productive spell with the Bergamaschi, amassing 44 goals and 21 assists across all competitions.

Lookman’s impressive contributions were instrumental in Atalanta securing their first-ever European title last season, where he made headlines by scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.

Although he started the Supercoppa Italiana semifinal against Inter Milan on the bench, Lookman made his appearance in the 56th minute, marking his 100th game for the club.

Despite the 2-0 defeat, it was a notable achievement for the winger, who has yet to secure a win against Inter in his six matches against them, recording one goal and one assist.

Atalanta celebrated the milestone on social media, posting: “@molalookman hits 100 games for Atalanta.” The club and its fans continue to recognize the significant impact Lookman has had since his arrival.
