Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi addresses Ademola Lookman transfer speculation

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Atalanta BC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Luca Percassi has publicly addressed the ongoing transfer situation involving star forward Ademola Lookman, amid increasing speculation of a move to Inter Milan.

Reports linking the Nigerian international with the Nerazzurri have intensified in recent days.

However, Percassi clarified the club’s position and shed light on earlier discussions with the player.

“We promised to sell him for two reasons: that he joins a big club and that he is never seen in another jersey in Italy,” — Luca Percassi to Actualité Serie A.

Lookman, who has played a key role in Atalanta’s recent successes—including their 2024/25 UEFA Europa League triumph—is said to have submitted a formal transfer request on Sunday.

Despite interest from several top European clubs, no agreement has yet been reached between Atalanta and Inter Milan.

The club stated that it remains in discussions with the player and his representatives, while reiterating its commitment to finding a resolution that aligns with the interests of all parties involved.
