Atalanta frustrated with Inter Milan over Ademola Lookman transfer talks — Reports

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Atalanta are reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with Inter Milan’s approach to negotiations over the potential transfer of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908, tensions are rising in Bergamo as Inter persist in their pursuit of the 26-year-old, despite having an initial €40 million offer rejected.

The Nerazzurri are said to have already reached personal terms with Lookman, a development that has further irritated Atalanta’s hierarchy.

The Serie A outfit have made their stance clear: Lookman will only be sold for €50 million — paid in full, with no room for installments or performance-based add-ons. They are also unwilling to entertain any loan-based arrangements.

Lookman, who is reportedly eager to make the switch to the San Siro, is believed to be pressuring Atalanta to sanction the move. However, behind-the-scenes contact between Inter and the player — without full club-to-club agreement — has not gone down well with Atalanta, who view it as a breach of protocol.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, Napoli have now entered the race for the Super Eagles forward, potentially creating a bidding war and further heightening the tension between the involved parties.

Lookman enjoyed a standout 2023/24 campaign, contributing significantly to Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League triumph and solidifying his status as one of the most valuable attacking assets in Serie A.
