Ikorodu City Head Coach, Nurudeen Aweroro, has highlighted the significance of his team’s 2-1 comeback victory over Shooting Stars in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The win, secured on Sunday in a thrilling Matchday 12 encounter in Lagos, marked a milestone for the Oga Boys and boosted their morale.
Aweroro praised his players for their resilience and determination, acknowledging that the victory will serve as a critical confidence booster for the team as they look to build momentum in the league.
“The win will help boost the mentality of the players ahead of subsequent games,” Aweroro said in an interview with Ikorodu City media.
“It’s going to be one step after the other, but I still believe the players have hopes of achieving greater heights this season.”
Currently occupying eighth position in the NPFL standings with 17 points from 12 matches, Ikorodu City will now turn their focus to their upcoming Matchday 13 clash against Niger Tornadoes in Minna on Sunday.
With their morale high after the win over Shooting Stars, Aweroro is confident that his side will continue to grow and make strides toward their goals for the season.
