Baba Ganaru heaves sigh of relief after Lobi Stars’ first NPFL win of the season

Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars, Mohammed Baba Ganaru has described his side’s win over Enugu Rangers as important and necessary to be in good shape for the Nigeria Premier Football League season.

New recruit Joseph Atule struck late to secure the maximum points for the Markudi based team on Wednesday at the New Jos Stadium following an opening day defeat to reigning champions, Rivers United in Port Harcourt.

An excited Ganaru stated that securing the match points will take off anxiety and pressure of his team and head into subsequent fixtures with more confidence.

“The team showed character and fighting spirit. It is important to start with a win at home to avoid anxiety and pressure,” Ganaru told newsmen in Jos.

“We needed to win that match which will also give us confidence and believe in the other matches and I expect to build on it.”

Lobi Stars will be in Umuahia for their next game against Abia Warriors on Sunday.
