Belenenses SAD will be giving it one last big swing in their attempts to remain in the Primeira Liga as they welcome Famalicão to the Estádio de Honra as one of Portugal’s giant clubs look set to be relegated once more after a crazy few years.
SAD faced enormous financial troubles in 2012 and consequently plummeted down the leagues and had to revamp their entire club. Now, their lengthy stay in the top flight looks set to come to an end if they cannot win their final two games of the season.

Even if they can claim all six points in the last two fixtures, they must also hope Arouca do not get even a point, and at the same time, overturn a +8 goal difference inferiority over the 15th-placed club. In reality, it’s a near impossible feat and they have indeed had one foot in the second tier for many weeks already.
Belenenses have only won five games all Primeira Liga season long, which is the worst in the league. Moreover, with just 21 goals, they have also registered one of the first goalscoring outputs across Europe this season, and they have barely been able to net more than one goal in a game for the past 32 fixtures in the top flight.
With a fighting chance to survive, however, they’ll be giving it one last push here, and they do face off against a Famalicão already safe from the drop.
On the other hand, with the automatic relegation spots being mathematically impossible for them to slip into, they will be looking to stay as high as they can in the table.
To avoid slipping into as low as 15th, they will simply just need to win here as the goal difference margin is greatly in the favour of Famalicao on Arouca.
All in all, with safety secured, it’s going to give SAD some hope of getting the win here with Famalicao having nothing to play for.
Either way, this game is likely to see the end of SAD in the top flight for now, and with them barely scoring all season long and registering a torrid defensive record of 52 goals conceded from 32 games, they are not expected to win here once more.
It will be defeat number 18 of the campaign for the club, and Forebet predicts a win for Famalicão here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
