Jude Bellingham says Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona has not ended the fight for the La Liga title, despite the result reigniting the race at the top of the table.

The England international posted a short message on Instagram after Sunday’s clasico, writing: “We won the battle, but the war is still ongoing. Hala Madrid!”

Real Madrid secured victory at Barcelona after Kylian Mbappe gave the visitors the lead. Raphinha brought Barcelona level, but Mbappe scored again to settle the match and earn his side three valuable points.

The result came in the 10th round of La Liga and provided a significant boost for Real Madrid, who halted Barcelona’s strong start to the campaign. Barcelona, meanwhile, suffered a damaging defeat in their pursuit of the title.

The match was closely contested, with Barcelona seeking to use home advantage and the support of their fans to strengthen their position at the summit. Real Madrid were aiming to close the gap on their traditional rivals.

Although the top three positions remained unchanged after the 10th round, the margins between the leading sides narrowed. Barcelona stayed top on 27 points, with Atletico de Madrid second on 25 points.

Real Madrid moved up to 24 points in third place and are now only three points behind Barcelona. The outcome has therefore intensified the battle for first place rather than settled it, a point reflected in Bellingham’s message.

The source’s fixture listings also include Barcelona in La Liga on 31 October 2026. Deportivo Alaves and Racing Santander are listed in La Liga on 1 November 2026, while Real Madrid also appears in the schedule listing.

Bellingham’s comments underline Real Madrid’s focus on the wider title race after a result that reduced the distance to Barcelona. The victory gave the club momentum, but the standings remain tightly contested with Atletico de Madrid still between the two rivals.
