Bendel Insurance extend unbeaten run to 13 with home draw against Kwara United

Kwara United forced Bendel Insurance to a 1-1 draw on Saturday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
The Benin Arsenals had drawn its last three games including 1-1 at Plateau United, while the Harmony Boys were hoping to recover from a 1-0 home loss to Shooting Stars.
The encounter didn’t produce any goal in the first half despite the impressive display by Monday Odigie’s side.
Kwara United, however broke the deadlock against the run of play in the 68th minute as Alao Mohammed coolly converted a free kick.
Insurance pushed for a fightback and were eventually rewarded with an equalizer in the 79th minute as Deputy Echeta profited from Kwara United’s failure to clear a corner kick before finding the back of the net.
The result was Insurance’s fourth straight draw in its last four games after previous draws with Enyimba, Akwa United, and Plateau United.
The Benin Gunners occupy the first position in Group A despite its fourth consecutive draw with 27 points, five points ahead of Akwa United.
Plateau United could reduce the five points gap with a win against Nasarawa United on Sunday in Uyo.
Insurance will next face Remo Stars at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State on April 16.
