Bendel Insurance lost their winning rhythm against Akwa United – Monday Odigie

By Saheed Afolabi
Bendel Insurance head coach, Monday Odigie believes his side lost their rhythm against Akwa United after settling for a 1-1 draw after a pulsating Nigeria Premier Football League encounter.
The Benin Arsenal defeated the Promise Keepers 2-0 in the season opener at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo but couldn’t make it a double against Deji Ayeni’s side despite securing an early lead.
Reflecting on the result, the Edo state born tactician has refused to be troubled by the setback at home as he aims to make amends in the coming fixture against Plateau United
“The way everybody saw the game is the way I see it. Like I said, the game came the way you all saw it. We didn’t get our rhythm today but it happens sometimes like that but the result is 1-1,” Odigie told media.
“We just finished a game, we don’t have time for preparation. We just try and correct our mistakes and hope that the boys will be like I said, strong enough.
“I don’t want to go that way, Nigerians wants football to be good, you need to make the environment like that. The games are too clumsy, like I said, we will do the best that we can.”
Bendel Insurance will face Plateau United in their next game on Sunday, April second at the new Jos stadium, Jos.
The Benin Arsenal maintain their status as the table toppers in the NPFL group A with 25 points from 11 matches.
