Benjamin Frederick: Nigerian youngster joins Premier League side Brentford

Benjamin Fredrick has completed a season-long loan move to from Nigeria’s Simonben Football Academy to English Premier League side, Brentford, with an option of a permanent deal.
Frederick who completed the move to the London based club will be drafted to the youth team where he’s expected to continue his progress with the aim of making the first team.
Brentford announced the young defender on their official Twitter handle on Thursday with his picture and caption that read “We are pleased to announce the signing of Benjamin Fredrick on loan from Simoiben FC until the end of the 2023/24 season.
“The move is subject to international clearance. There is also an option to make the signing permanent,” the club announced via its website.
“The central defender will join up with Neil MacFarlane’s B team for the campaign.”
Benjamin featured for Nigeria at FIFA Under-20 World Cup earlier this year in Argentina helping the team to the quarterfinal finish after losing 1-0 to South Korea.
He was a regular team members for Coach Ladan Bosso led Flying Eagles making 11 appearances through the WAFU B championship in Niger, U20 AFCON in Egypt and at the FIFA U20 World in Argentina.
The 18-year-old defender has also had short spells with Nigerian clubs including ABS FC and Nasawara United during his growth process in Nigeria.
