Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has honored Super Falcons forward, Francisca Ordega, with a cash reward of ₦50 million, a three-bedroom flat, and the renaming of a street in her honor.
Governor Alia made the announcement today in recognition of Ordega’s outstanding contributions to Nigerian football and her representation of the state on the global stage.
The gesture celebrates her role in inspiring the next generation of athletes in Benue and beyond.
Francisca Ordega, a veteran member of the Super Falcons, has represented Nigeria in multiple FIFA Women’s World Cups and African Women’s Cup of Nations tournaments, earning both national and international acclaim.
“This is our way of showing that Benue State values excellence, dedication, and the pride our own Francisca has brought to the people,” Governor Alia said.
Ordega was part of Nigeria’s senior women’s national team that won the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The feat marked Super Falcons 10th WAFCON title out of 13 editions.
