Beyond Limits end Gothia Cup sojourn with humbling quarterfinal defeat

One of Nigeria’a representatives at the annual Gothia Cup youth competition in Sweden, Beyond Limits Football Academy have been knocked out of the tournament following a 4-1 loss to Swedish side, AIK FF on Thursday.

Beyond Limit who are the youth team of Remo Stars started the competition on a brighter note haven gone through group stage without conceding a goal.

They have earlier saw off another Swedish side GIF Sundsvall in the Round of 16 clash before facing AIK who looked a better side through the game.

It was AIK who took an early lead with just eight minutes to the game when Jonah Kusi-Asare finish off a team build up.

The boys of Coach Olumide equalised three minutes into the second half through impressive striker Kparobo Arierhi, who scored his fourth goal of the competition.

Things went awry for the Ikenne based boys soon after as AIK capitalized on their fatigued legs scoring three goals in quick succession.

Beyond Limits will be leaving the Gothia Cup satisfied having reached the last eight in their first appearance.

They have also been awarded a place in the next edition with a promise from organizers to cater for their logistics for emerging the side with the best costume at the opening.
