Samuel Chukwueze produced a man of the match performance on Saturday as he helped recorded an historic 9-0 win over Santa Amelia in the Spanish Copa del Rey of Round of 64.
The Super Eagles’ winger scored twice and provided the same number for the Yellow Submarines.
Chukwueze who is still waiting for his first league goal in the current campaign led the Villarreal routing of Santa Amalia as he provided the first two goals which Diego Collado and Alex Baena buried before Jose Luis Morales made it three for the Yellow Submarine in the first.
The Nigerian winger would then put his name on the score sheet in the second half with their fourth and fifth goals within two minutes.
Villarreal went berserk on the lower league side in the remaining parts of the game with four more goals from Francis Coquelin, Etienne Capoue and a brace from Gerard Moreno.
The result provided a bright start for Villarreal new coach, Quique Setien who is still trying to find a balanced team since he replaced Unai Emery who left the club for Aston Villa weeks ago.
For Chukwueze, the brace of goal increased his season’s goals in all competitions to five and has provided seven goals in all competitions as well.
