The draw date and venue for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) have been announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday.

CAF confirmed after holding its Executive Committee meeting in Algiers that the Official Draw of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 will be conducted on Thursday, 12 October 2023.

The tournament is the 34th edition of the biggest African international showpiece tournament held every two years until Covid-19  disruption in 2020.

CAF had earlier postponed this edition to 13 January and 11 February 2024 on 3 July 2022 due to weather concerns in the host country during the summer.

Hosts, Ivory Coast alongside six other countries have qualified for the tournament. They include Morocco, Algeria, South Africa, defending champions Senegal, Burkina Faso, and Tunisia.

They will be joined by 17 other nations for the competition taking place in five host cities.

Khorgo, Bouake, Yamoussoukro, San Pedro, and Abidjan are the host cities of the tournament holding from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
