CAF Awards: Super Falcons shortlisted for the National Team of the Year

Nigeria have been shortlist for the 2023 CAF awards in the Women’s National Team of the Tear category.

The Super Falcons came fourth in the last Women Africa Cup Of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

They have been the most decorated and successful team in Africa following the nine continental titles won over the years. The nine-time African champions have always qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup and have reached the quarter final once in 1999.

They shone brightly at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand to become the first women’s side not to loose a game in the group stage to qualify for the Round of 16.

The Falcons have two players in the final lists for the Women’s Player of the Year, also housed the five times Africa Women’s Best Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala.
