Enyimba FC will get their 2024/2025 continental engagements underway with a clash against Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou in the CAF Confederation Cup (CAF CC) on Friday.

The Aba-based side secured a 3-1 win over Heartland FC in their 2024/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) opener last weekend.

Before jetting out of the country, the head coach of the People’s Elephant, Yemi Olanrewaju said the focus is to maintain the winning momentum ahead of the Friday’s encounter.

“We don’t really have enough information about them but we know they must have been following us. This is Enyimba FC. They know what the club represent ad stands for,” Olanrewaju told the club media.

“The club is known for always winning which I do tell the boys. We must go there and fight to represent the club.”

Meanwhile, players and officials of the team arrived Bamako, Mali, the venue of the encounter on Thursday.

Olanrewaju’s side have won the CAF Champions League twice in 2003 and 2004 and also won the Super Cup in the process.

Since 2004, the People’s Elephant continued their search for continental title.
