CAF CC Playoff: Rivers United arrive Nigeria from Libya after group stage qualification

Rivers United returned to the shores of Nigeria after honoring their TotalEnergies CAF Confederation’s Cup additional playoff round 2nd leg match against El Nasr Benghazi on Wednesday.

The “Pride of Rivers touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja on board Egyptian Air at 1:47pm Nigerian time on Friday.

Rivers United picked the group stage qualification ticket after securing a 6-1 aggregate score over El Nasr Benghazi.

With the elimination of Plateau United, and earlier exit of Kwara United and Remo Stars, the Nigerian champions are the only club from the country left in the Caf club competition, having reached the group stages.

The CAF Confederation’s Cup group stage draw will be made on November 16 with matches starting from February 12.
