Head Coach of Young Africans, Nasseredine Nabi has revealed how his side dislodged Rivers United’s tactics to claim a massive 2-0 CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal first leg win in Uyo on Sunday.
A brace from Fiston Mayele in the second half put Yanga as the Young Africans are called a massive win in the match played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
The victory has also put the Tanzanian champions in driving seat ahead of the second leg in Dar es Salaam on Sunday and the manager expressed delight with the win adding that it was down to tactical plans to avoid defeat.
“I am delighted to win because it is not easy to come to Nigeria and win,” Nabi told media.
“We played well and took our chances, but the game is far from over.
“We still have the second leg and we need to do even better to ensure we qualify.”
Rivers United will need to bring their A game to fore and score three goals without conceding on Sunday to stand a chance of booking the semifinal place.
