Caf Confederation Cup: Plateau United subdue North African side

Plateau United defeated Al Akhdar 4-1 in the first leg of CAF Confederation Cup played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja.
Two Second half goals from Albert Hillary powered Plateau United into Second leg advantage with Libyan team needing three goal at home to sail through to to the group stage.
Mustapha Ibrahim nodded in from the close range to give the hosts a deserved lead in the 27th minute while Ifeanyi Emmanuel scored the second goal from Haggai Atoh inswinger to double Plateau United lead in the 40th minutes
Acrobatic kick by Albert Hilary following Itodo long throwing in the 75th minute gave Plateau United the 3rd goal.
Earlier, substitute, Hilary had his goal dissalowed in the 53rd minute before Al Akhdar pulled one back in the 85th minute.
Albert Hillary struggled to beat the his opponents and scored the important goal for his team in the 90th minutes
With this scoreline, Plateau United renewed hope of playing in the group stage of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
The second Nigeria club at the competition Rivers United had earlier thrashed another Libyan team 5-0 to make the second leg a formalty.
