CAFCC: Stanley Eguma confident of Enyimba’s quarter-Final qualification

By Saheed Afolabi

Enyimba International head coach, Stanley Eguma, remains optimistic about his team’s chances of reaching the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup, despite a 1-1 draw with Al Masry in Uyo.

The result has put Enyimba’s qualification in the balance, but Eguma insists the fight is far from over.

Eguma, who has been with the club for several years, remains confident ahead of their final group-stage match, which will be decisive for their progression to the next round.

He emphasized the motivation Enyimba will draw from the way Al Masry performed in Uyo, and believes that they can still achieve a positive result in their upcoming away fixture.

“It’s not the end of the road. We still have the next game to play,” Eguma stated in the post-match interview.

“If Al Masry can come here and play the game of their lives, then we can go to Egypt, and who knows what the outcome of the other games will be. We are still optimistic, it is not over until it is over.”

Enyimba’s final group-stage match will see them face Zamalek, with the club knowing that a win will secure their place in the quarter-finals.

The People’s Elephant will be aiming for a crucial victory to keep their continental dreams alive.
