Cairo, Ismailia And Alexandria Ready To Host TotalEnergies U20 AFCON Egypt

CAF along with the Egyptian Soccer Affiliation (EFA) and the Native Organising (LOC) are placing ultimate touches to the preparations of the TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations – one of many flagship youth occasions of CAF.

The competitors will kick-off on 19 February 2023 with the opening match between hosts Egypt and Southern African facet, Mozambique at Cairo Worldwide Stadium at 16h00 native time (14h00 GMT).

Three stadiums will host the competitors that may run till 11 March 2023. The venues are Cairo Worldwide Stadium, Suez Canal Stadium and Alexandria Stadium.

In regards to the Venues:

Cairo Worldwide Stadium – Cairo (75,000 capability). In-built 1960, the Cairo Worldwide Stadium is the house of the Egyptian nationwide group. The venue is utilized by the 2 Egyptian giants, Al Ahly and Zamalek.

Suez Canal Authority Stadium – Ismailia. (21,000 capability). The newly-built stadium was inaugurated in September 2022.

Alexandria Stadium – Alexandria (20,000 capability). This is among the venues that hosted the 2019 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Egypt.

Group A: Egypt, Mozambique, Senegal, Nigeria

Group B: Uganda, Central Africa Republic, South Sudan, Congo

Group C: The Gambia, Tunisia, Benin, Zambia
