CHAN 2024: Eric Chelle stakes everything on Nigeria’s must-win duel against Sudan

By Wale Mustapha

Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team face a crucial encounter against Sudan in Matchday Two of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Tuesday, with Head Coach Eric Chelle emphasizing the importance of securing victory.

After a disappointing opening loss to defending champions Senegal, Chelle stressed the team’s determination to bounce back and deliver a win in their next game.

“We are ambitious, and we just want to win tomorrow’s game. There is a lot of pressure, but we are together,” Chelle said during a pre-match press conference.

“I just want to win the game. The game will have a lot of intensity.”

He also dismissed distractions, focusing solely on the task ahead. “I don’t think about the journalists or cameras when the game is on. When I’m happy or unhappy, it’s just me doing my job.”

The fixture is scheduled for 6pm Nigerian time at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
