Chelsea are reportedly willing to include Super Eagles-eligible duo Carney Chukwuemeka and Tyrique George in ongoing negotiations with RB Leipzig for Dutch midfielder Xavi Simons, according to BBC Sport.
With the Premier League season approaching, manager Enzo Maresca is reshaping the squad, and both players have emerged as potential makeweights in the deal.
Chukwuemeka, 21, who joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in 2022, has struggled for consistent game time due to injuries and stiff midfield competition.
Despite his contract running until 2028, Chelsea are open to a permanent sale to reduce wage expenses and comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
George, 19, one of Chelsea’s brightest academy talents, notched eight goal contributions last season and made history as the youngest scorer at the June 2024 FIFA Club World Cup.
RB Leipzig is still assessing whether to pursue either player, evaluating Chukwuemeka’s Bundesliga readiness and George’s long-term potential.
Chelsea are eager to expedite talks amid squad restructuring and financial considerations ahead of the new campaign.
