Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed her delight and gratitude after being crowned the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year for the third consecutive time at the 2025 CAF Awards held in Morocco on Wednesday.
The Super Falcons shot-stopper, who currently stars for Brighton and Hove Albion, delivered an emotional appreciation speech as she received the honour, reinforcing her status as one of the best goalkeepers on the continent.
“I just want to thank God for bringing us all here safely. A big thank you to the organisers, CAF President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), NFF President and Secretary General,” Nnadozie said.
She extended her appreciation to her national teammates as well as her club sides—past and present.
“Thanks to my teammates. They are the best. Thank you to Paris FC for being the pillar of my career. Thank you to Brighton and Hove Albion and to all my coaches,” she added.
Nnadozie, who previously won the award in 2023 and 2024, described the latest triumph as a major milestone in her career.
“Winning this award for the third time is huge for my career. I thank all the academies that I have played for.”
She also had kind words for fellow nominees Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Dlamini.
“To the other contestants, I am your huge fan. I watch all your games and hope you win this award one day and see African goalkeepers win global awards in the future,” she said.
Her consistent brilliance for club and country continues to elevate the profile of African women’s goalkeeping on the global stage.
