Nigeria goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie is back in France with her club, Paris FC following her participation at the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Nnadozie is back with Paris FC after leading the Super Falcons contingent, including Desire Oparanozie, Tochukwu Oluehi, and Osinachi Ohale, to visit Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State recently.
Paris FC confirmed Nnadozie’s return to training with a collaborative post on social media.
The 22-year-old captained the Super Falcons in all four games at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, where she played a crucial role as the West Africans finished as the 10th-ranked team at the tournament.
Her heroics will be in the memories of many fans for many years to come, starting from her penalty save in the opening game against Canada and with many other performances before the bitter Round of 16 exit.
A lot of doubt was cast upon the Nigerians before the kick-off of the competition after they were drawn in a tough Group B that consisted of Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland where they finished second with one of the tournament upsets being their 3-2 victory over co-hosts, Australia in front of their home crowd.
However, Nnadozie ensured Nigeria finished the group stage unbeaten for the first time in their history. The Nigerian recently penned a new contract with French side that will see her remain at Paris FC until June 2025.
The shot-stopper, who has established herself as one of the key players in the team has made 54 league appearances since her arrival and will now focus on the round 1 tie of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
