Chiamaka Nnadozie shortlisted for WSL Save of the Month Award

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been shortlisted for the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) Save of the Month award for November.

The 24-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper earned her second consecutive nomination following a stunning save in Brighton’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

Nnadozie produced a moment of brilliance when she acrobatically tipped Fuka Nagano’s long-range effort onto the crossbar, preserving a crucial point for her side.

She will contend for the accolade alongside Sabrina D’Angelo (Aston Villa), Faye Kirby (Liverpool), and Ayaka Yamashita (Manchester City).

Nnadozie narrowly missed out on the award in October, losing to Arsenal’s Daphne van Domselaar. Still, the Nigerian star will be hoping to go one better this time and clinch the November honour.

This is coming after her nomination for best goalkeeper at the Ballon d’Or, FIFPRO Best XI, and FIFA Best goalkeeper awards all in 2025.

Nnadozie is gradually growing to become one of the best save hands in the world as far as women’s football is concerned since completing her switch to Brighton and Hove Albion from French side, Paris FC.
