Chibuike Nwaiwu Earns Super Eagles Call-Up Following Bassey Injury

Trabzonspor defender and versatile midfielder Chibuike Nwaiwu has been called into the Super Eagles squad after Calvin Bassey withdrew due to a back injury.

Nwaiwu’s dedication and consistent performances at club level have earned him this opportunity. Known for his defensive solidity and ability to contribute in midfield, the 23-year-old adds depth and flexibility to Nigeria’s lineup.

Coach Eric Chelle expressed confidence in Nwaiwu’s ability to make an immediate impact.

With this call-up, Nwaiwu is set to make his mark on the international stage, filling the gap left by Bassey and providing the Super Eagles with more options both defensively and in midfield.
