Chidera Ejuke: Nigeria forward helps Hertha Berlin end 2022 with a win 

Nigeria forward Chidera Ejuke ensured his German club side, Hertha Berlin ended the year with a victory scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 friendly win over Braunschweig on Wednesday.

Hertha have been engaging in some test games to be in top shape ahead of resumption to Bundesliga campaign.

Their last match of the year before embarking on a year-ending break was decided at the Hanns-Braun-Platz Arena.

The second division club had held Hertha to a goaless in the first as they marched their hosts in strength and tactics.

However, the second half was more better for Hertha after strings of changes. It would later paid off with Ejuke’s goal that came on the stroke of the hour.

The goal will however give the former CSKA Moscow forward a boost as he is still search of his first league goal for Hertha Berlin since he joined the club in the summer.

Ejuke has featured 15 times in the Bundesliga with Hertha with three assists but no goal to show. He was part of the Super Eagles’ set up that crashed out in the knockout stage of the last African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
