Chinaza Uchendu scores and bags assist in Gyeongju win over Incheon Hyundai Steel

Nigeria forward, Chinaza Uchendu scored her first goal of the season as Gyeongju secured a 2-1 win against Incheon Hyundai Steel in the South Korean WK Women’s League encounter on Friday.
Uchendu had a hand in both goals scored by her side which helped them to their second win of the campaign.
The last season’s runners-up had won one out of its last five games ahead of the encounter while its opponents won its first two league games before succumbing to three straight losses.
In quest to silence the defending champions, the former Linkopings of Sweden player scored the first goal of the encounter for her side in the 25th minute.
In the additional minute of the first half, she received a pass in her half and raced into the opponent’s half before setting up Ji-Yeon Seo whose effort inside the box hit the top left corner to double the host lead.
The visitors, however reduced the deficit for the visitors through Hwa-Yeon Son in the 70th minute but the goal couldn’t prevent the host from its second win of the season.
Uchendu joined Gyeongju last season after her previous stints with the Swedish side, Linkopings FC, and Portuguese outfit, Braga.
The Nigeria international has scored three goals in her debut season with the South Korean side as she will hope her good form seal her return to the Super Falcons fold ahead of the Women’s World Cup after almost four-year haitus.
Gyeongju occupy the fourth position on the table with eight points, six points behind leader, Suwon FC.
They will seek to climb up further on the standings with a positive result against Boeun Sangmu on April 25.
