Chinwendu Ihezuo inspires five-star Pachuca to victory against San Luis

Nigeria forward, Chinwendu Ihezuo was on target for Pachuca as the team thrashed San Luis 5-0 in the Mexican Liga MX Women on Monday.

A hat trick from captain, Veronica Corral led the host to a comprehensive win at the Estadio Miguel Hidalgo, Pachuca.

Ella Ryan Sanchez Stickel opened the scoring for Pachuca inside the box in the first minute of play.

Ihezuo doubled the lead with a header in the fifth minute for the host.

A minute after the half hour mark, Corral made it 3-0 and scored her second goal from a free kick in the 51st minute.

Corral completed her hat trick in the 77th minute.

Ihezuo who scored her second league goal of the season was replaced by Oke Ayooluwa in the 59th minute.

Her compatriot, Osinachi Ohale also saw 59 minutes of action before she was replaced by Daniela Flores.

Pachuca occupies the second position on the table with 13 points after five games, two behind Club America and a point better than Monterrey.

Pachuca will next face league leaders, Club America on February 4, 2025.
