Chinwendu Ihezuo’s goal lifts Pachuca to victory over Club America

Nigeria forward Chinwendu Ihezuo opened scoring for the Mexican Liga MX women’s side, Pachuca, in a 2-1 win over Club America.
The former Monterrey player scored the first goal of the top-of-the-table clash in the 33rd minute at the Estadio Miguel Hidalgo.
Eight minutes into the second half, Montserrat Saldivar qualified for Club America.
Five minutes later, Nina Nicosia restored Pachuca’s lead to seal the victory.
Ihezuo has scored three goals for Pachuca after six league games this season.
She was replaced by American youth international, Ayooluwa Oke in the 93rd minute.
Her compatriot, Osinachi Ohale, played the duration of the match and was yellow-carded in the 15th minute.
Pachuca upstaged Club America at the top of the log with 16 points, a point above their opponents.
They will visit Club Leon in their next league match on February 8, 2025.
