Chippa United coach confirms potential summer departure of Stanley Nwabali

Chippa United head coach Thabo September has acknowledged that Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, along with other key players, could depart the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The club has faced challenges in retaining top talent in recent seasons, with several players having moved on to other clubs.

Nwabali, who signed a new contract earlier this season amid interest from foreign clubs, remains a target for potential suitors.

September stated that the club might be forced to part ways with players they can no longer keep, as part of a broader strategy to rebuild and focus on youth development.

“We will lose some, but there’s definitely a core group we’ll keep,” September said.

“It’s part of football. If you want to improve your team, sometimes you have to sell your best players, reinvest in younger talent, and aim for stability.”

Despite the potential departures, September is confident the club will maintain its squad’s strength, adding, “Yes, we’ll lose a few, but we’ll rebuild in those areas and maintain the rest of the squad.”
