Chisom Egbuchulam Weighs Options as BK Hacken Opts Against Contract Renewal

In a surprising turn of events, Swedish Allsvenskan club BK Hacken has decided not to exercise the purchase option for Nigerian international, Chisom Egbuchulam, following the expiration of his one-year loan deal. The 26-year-old winger, on loan from Nigeria Professional Football League side, Enugu Rangers, had initially joined Hacken with the anticipation of a permanent three-year deal contingent on his performance for Mikael Stahre’s side.
Contrary to expectations, news emerging from the Bravida Arena unveils the club’s decision not to extend Egbuchulam’s contract. Despite the winger’s accolades, including being crowned the Player of the Year at the annual Nigeria Sports Award for his pivotal role in helping Rangers secure the 2015/2016 NPFL title with an impressive 16 goals, Hacken appears poised to part ways with the player due to his inability to find the net in his 10 appearances for the Swedish outfit.
Egbuchulam’s agent, Astrit Feka, who facilitated the Hacken deal, expressed the player’s contentment with his Swedish experience, affirming that despite the goal drought, offers for the striker have started pouring in both domestically and internationally. Feka remarked, “There is interest for Chisom both in Sweden and abroad, and we will see how things are developing in the coming months.”
As the Nigerian forward contemplates his next move, the football world awaits with bated breath to witness where Egbuchulam’s talents will be showcased next, following his impactful stint in the Swedish league.
