Christy Ucheibe provides assist as Benfica reach Portuguese Taça da Liga final

Nigeria midfielder, Christy Ucheibe provided her second assist in two games for the Portuguese side, SL Benfica as they secured a 4-2 win over Sporting to reach the final of the Taça da Liga.
The Super Falcons star also came off the bench to bag an assist during her team’s last league game against Albergaria/Durit during a 9-0 win on Sunday and continued from where she left off in the Cup clash mid week.
SL Benfica had defeated Sporting 4-1 in the first leg with a commanding performance ahead of Wednesday’s return fixture and Ana Capeta gave the champions a scare, opening the scoring for Sporting in the 27th minute.
However, Benfica levelled matters through Jessica Silva 12 minutes later to ensure stalemate before the halftime break.
Six minutes into the second half, Benfica gained the lead for the first time thanks to Francisca Nazareth’s goal before Capeta grabbed her second of the match to level for Sporting in the 53rd minute.
Benfica did not waste time to find a response five minutes later as Nazareth gave the visitors the lead with her second goal of the match substitute Ucheibe set up Brazil’s Marta Cintra who guarante their progression.
Ucheibe was introduced in the 71st minute and went on to bag her consecutive assists in the games for Benfica.
With the win, Benfica earned a 8-3 aggregate win to advance to the final where they will face will Peace Efih’s Braga in Taça de Liga final on April 1.
